Ski Essentials Rollerblade Demo

On Sunday, May 26th, during the busy Memorial Day Weekend, Ski Essentials and Rollerblade teamed up in Stowe, Vermont to allow locals and tourist alike to demo Rollerblade skates. Rollerblade’s Myles Cotter-Sparrow and Seth Davis along with Ski Essential’s Jeff Neagle parked the Rollerblade demo van in Chase Park on the Stowe Recreation Path. This is a high traffic trail for cyclists, inline skaters and walkers and the perfect location to showcase Rollerbades to people who have never tried them or haven’t skated them in years. Between noon-4pm nearly 100 people stopped by the tent to try on and demo skates on the trail.

Making the Drive to Stowe

I already had plans to skate Sunday morning with my friend Gabe Holm of Thuro Skateshop in Lyndonville, Vermont. However I did not want to miss out on the chance to try out some new skates. After our session I made the hour and a half drive to Stowe, getting there around 2pm. I tried out several skates, including the Rollerblade Rollerblade Twister Edge Edition 2 3WD, the Rollerblade Macroblade 110 3WD and the Rollerblade Maxxum Edge 125 3WD.

It was a lot of fun skating and seeing so many young kids, teenagers, hipsters, skiers and pretty much any type of person you can think of skating and having a blast all along the path. You could see the smiles on peoples faces and could tell that they really loved having skates on their feet. I wouldn’t be surprised if several people didn’t order themselves a pair when they got back home.

The Stowe Recreation Path

The Stowe Recreation Path is a 5.3 mile greenway stretching from Stowe Village to Top Notch Resort on the Mountain Road. This trail is an absolute gem with breath-taking mountain views. After the demo was over Myles, Christabel Barry and I skated the path up towards the mountains, through the woods and along the West Branch Little River ending with dinner trailside at Tres Amigos Mexican Restaurant. This is one of my favorite trials in Vermont and I plan on skating here again many more times this summer.
